“Planting a flag” is a centuries-old practice used to claim ownership of places. They also act as markers of human endeavour, with the act of planting a flag being just as symbolically important as the colours and symbols borne by them.
We’re inviting the people of Greater Manchester to design and plant their own flags in places that have personal significance to them. We have created a virtual twin of the region in Roblox reserved exclusively for the flags created by its inhabitants.
Here's how it works:
- Design your flag in the creator (mobile devices work best if you want to take your flag out into the world!)
- When you’re happy with your design, hit the flag icon in the top-right
- The site will try to get your device’s location (you will need to give us permission for this, but we won’t be tracking your location at any other time than when you’re planting your flag).
- Plant your flag where you want to!
- View the flag space
